OUR STAFF

Picture
Pastor Rachael Keefe

Rachael relocated to the Twin Cities to join Living Table UCC in December, 2014. She came to us from New England, along with her wife, Erika, and their two cats.

Rachael was ordained by the United Church of Christ in 1992, and has served in many different ministry settings both traditional and decidedly nontraditional. She has a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological School, another Masters degree (ThM) from Princeton, in Christian Education and counseling, and a doctoral degree (DMin) from Andover Newton Theological School, in Newton, MA.

Rachael is also a painter and a poet. On sunny afternoons you might see her with her easel at a local park or river walkway. Find our pastor online at Monday's Muse Vlog, Write Out of Left Field Blog, and beachtheology.com.

While Rachael’s career has taken her to a variety of unexpected places, she has always found herself in ministry with those who often find themselves on the margins of church life. She has been an advocate for youth, LGBT people, people with development disabilities, and people with severe mental illness. Ministry at Living Table builds on that experience and offers new challenges and blessings.

Kevin Werner Hohlstein, Minister of Music

Kevin joined the Living Table UCC team in February of 2017.

Before moving to the Twin Cities, Kevin completed a BA in music at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and while in school had the opportunity to work with the Eau Claire Children’s Theater and Fanny Hill Dinner Theater. Calling the Twin Cities home since 1995, he has worked as a performer, choreographer, and director with many theater companies across the Twin Cities metro and in western Wisconsin. He was also able to create a number of shows and is proud to be one of the creators of Pop Up Musical, a show that had its start at the Fringe Festival in 2012.

As a church musician, Kevin started in high school as church organist in his home church of Lodi, Wisconsin. Jump ahead to the early part of the 2000s, when Kevin was a member of the music ministry at All God’s Children MCC, including being on the praise and worship team. In 2003, he was a part of the album released by the praise and worship team,
For God’s Sake.

He is very proud of the 'community-based spiritual exploration’ service, 3V, he created with his husband, Paul, at Unity Minneapolis. This hour-long experience served as an alternative service for the members of the Unity community from September 2012 through July 2014.

In addition to being a member of the voice faculty at McNally Smith College of Music and director of the Musical Theater Ensemble, he teaches voice out of his home studio and is proud to be a founding member of the Twin Cities Cabaret Artists Network (TCCAN).
